ABOUT SURI
I’m an artist and designer based in London, raised between Zhejiang and Hong Kong.
My work begins with a fractured experience of hearing. I wear a hearing aid, but what I hear is often delayed, distorted, or uncertain.
Through recordings, drawings, subtitles, and hands, I try to rebuild a way of communicating that doesn’t centre sound.
I explore the boundaries of language, the poetics of mishearing, and the politics of being “not quite heard.”
Often, I’m not capturing sound itself, but the feeling of losing it.
Currently studying MA Design at Goldsmiths, University of London.
